ancient

I remember the day after my high school graduation, looking in the mirror and thinking "Goddamn, I'm getting old"

I laugh at such a callow young man these days.

I will now do something totally uncharacteristic and make an update with some content/commentary on life events:

Danielle and I closed on a house last month and we are getting ready to move in April 28. Similar to what I thought after getting my high school diploma, I remember 9 months ago when we had finished moving into our apartmento, that I had a Holy Shit moment then too -- now we've committed to thirty years of mortgage payments.

That's longer than I've been alive, plus another third (and then some).

I'm scheduled to learn how to fix stuff and mow lawns, etc. in the near future and we have to go thru all the excitement of picking out our electric co,. telephone/internet providers, all over again.

Work has been going... ok. Corporate America bullshit is what you should expect when you work in Corporate America -- however, somehow I'm always surprised when some HR redtape or whatever says "you've been doing a fantastic job; your boss, her boss and her boss all love your work, we all realize you are severely underpaid, but I'm not allowed to do anything about it, because last year we gave you an extra $3k [even tho that is less than 70% of what we pay one salesman on one deal out of the millions we close every year*]." Danielle's has been going much better -- I'm very proud of her. My brother is working at Countrywide too now which is great, but results in every goddamn person there saying "the whole family's here now" or "Just need to get your mom in here" or something else that's incredibly clever.

We've been 'planning' more of the wedding -- I suppose. We need to send out an e-mail or something to get everyone's addresses for invites and stuff, altho that won't matter if we never get the invite finished.

More and More I love living w/ Danielle. I love hearing about her day at dinner or whilest driving around town. I love getting phone calls at work even tho we've both only been there for a half an hour. I can't wait to move into our house.

School is alright, just finished my 2nd trimester, summer session starts in a month.

Although I've been thinking about it a lot, I've had 0 time to work on my webpage. Hopefully, I'll have some time while school is out to put some time in.

Also, I've been trying to reach out to my pals out of state, but as I have about 5 minutes of free time each night, please don't be offended if you haven't got an IM or phone call recently. Anyway, we need to get in touch soon.

Also, here's this for good measure -- It's really the only piece of 'artwork' I've been able to complete lately...

I'll try not to have so much next time.

*Only a slight exaggeration

The Sound of Felt on Felt

I came to a realization yesterday -- I love songs w/ random hand claps in them, I.E. Take the Money and Run by Steve Miller Band, Too Much Time on my Hands by Styx, Peace Train by Cat Stevens, etc.

I've decided that this is directly correlated to my love of Muppets -- It seems to me that any song they've had on the Muppet Show has 1,000 hand claps in them... Of course, I could be wrong.
